This special event marks the close of the Museum's current photography exhibit “Dancing for My Tribe: Potawatomi Tradition in Modern Times” and combines Native American-inspired food and dance. Photographer Sharon Hoogstraten, a descendant of the Ouilmette family after whom the village of Wilmette is named, will talk about her work and modern-day Potawatomi traditions. She will be joined by Sarah Stegner, the James Beard award-winning chef and co-owner of Prairie Grass Café in Northbrook, who will serve up some Native American-inspired small plates and chat about her culinary approach. Tickets can be purchased until Monday, October 1st either online at wilmettehistory.org or by calling (847) 853-7666.
