Event Description:
Please join us for the opening of a new exhibit, “Exploring West Wilmette.” Come have a mock 1950s cocktail and browse this exhibit on the history of an area whose very definition has changed over time, and is even now a matter about which locals disagree. The exhibit looks for west Wilmette in many places, exploring its cultural geography with special attention to the housing boom of the 1950s that turned family farms into distinctive new subdivisions.
“Exploring West Wilmette” will be at the Wilmette Historical Museum through 2017.
