The report has become the industry benchmark when examining the the value of investing in the improvement of a home when it comes time to sell. It provides the numbers you need on how much it really costs for a pro to do a typical remodeling project, as well as how much that project can be expected to bring in resale value. It examines variations in what it costs for a professional to do different remodeling projects in different markets across the nation. The Chicago area is a local market that is specifically examined. Results are then compared with findings from a survey of real estate professionals who are asked to estimate the additional value that those remodeling projects bring to a house if the home is sold within a year of when the remodeling project occurred.
